10 Faves @10

As part of the March Mini Madness at write.click.scrapbook, I made and shared a mini album using Karla Dudley's  The Good Stuff and The Good Stuff Add-Ons at Pixels and Company

For my mini album, I wanted to capture 10 things about my son while he's 10 years old. I wasn't sure if I wanted to bind the pages together for an album, or if I wanted to add the pages to my Project Life album. I decided to design the pages at  3" x 4" (really 2.88" x 4" in the Project Life brand pocket pages) so that I could create one album and print it twice to create both options!

I used a similar format for each page to provide cohesion to the album and to allow for quick assembly. I repeated the same background paper, used a single photo and paper strip, and then added washi tape, flair buttons and word strips to embellish each.

Best Friends

It's March Mini Madness month at write.click.scrapbook! The gallery is FULL of examples of different kinds of mini albums for the Mini Madness IV gallery. I created this mini album for my son to take with us on trips. He really misses our dog Copper when we're gone and she can't come along! Looking at pictures of her makes him happy.

Disney Planning

Time to check out the brand new gallery for February at write.click.scrapbook, TechLove. Probably like many digital scrapbookers, I love me some tech!! I heavily relied on technology, primarily my iphone and its various apps, for planning and enjoying our recent trip to Orlando.

Here's my contribution to TechLove:

Some of the apps I used: My Disney Experience, Weather Channel, Rain Aware, Camera and Camera+, WDW Lines, PicTapGo, Day One, and Notes.

Morning Commute & Enjoy Today

Sketches or templates aren't just for layouts - they make a great starting point for pocket cards too! Here's a few that I made using the October 2013 sketch at write.click.scrapbook. For more ideas on using sketches for different-sized projects, check out my Day 5 post on getting more from your sketches/templates.

I recently hosted a week of posts at write.click.scrapbook about getting more out of your digital templates or sketches. I didn't complete a sample for my Day 4 post, but wanted to be sure you didn't miss the other great samples and ideas using the April 2013 sketch from write.click.scrapbook!

Raking Leaves

I just love fall colors and photos with piles of leaves! I created this layout using the March 2013 sketch at write.click.scrapbook for my Day 3 post about getting more from your sketches or templates. I thought the layering was perfect to use different fun papers and also tie into the piles of leaves.

Where Dreams Come True

November's gallery theme at write.click.scrapbook is Dreaming, and wow are there some great layouts from the team! And what's the first thing that pops into my mind right now at the mention of Dreams? Why, Disney World, of course! I'm currently dreaming of a Disney vacation and making the plans to go, which means I needs to get some photos from our previous trips scrapped.

Here's my contribution:

write.click.scrapbook. September gallery

Wow. September 1st already. Soon the leaves will start changing and falling, and autumn will be in full swing.
Today I’d like to share with you the layout I created for the September Gallery at write.click.scrapbook. The theme was Palette-able. We could choose any color palette to create a layout and share our inspiration.
HelloSchool_CareyBridges_201309
My contribution is inspired by the back to school theme of my photos, using the triadic primary color scheme of red, yellow and blue, with a few neutrals to tone things down. Blue and gold (yellow) also happen to be the school colors at my son’s school, and match perfectly with the photos. Side note: I seriously could not have planned a better match with the teacher’s clothes if I had tried! And, I totally love her chevron skirt!
HelloSchool-palette_CareyBridges_201309
Got any back to school photos that still need to be scrapped? Why not try this color scheme? I’d love to see any layouts you create – just link me up in the comments!
To see my journaling, credits and notes on the layout, as well as the other fabulous layouts and color palettes from the rest of the team, head over to write.click.scrapbook.

Hello, August!

I can’t believe that summer has flown by so quickly! In a few short weeks, school will be back in session and we’ll have to get back into a routine. Time to check in on that summer bucket list and get some items checked off.
